While you were enjoying Cinco de Mayo yesterday, walking into bars with sombrero hats on thinking it is an original move, the Red Sox were getting slashed by the Orioles. Literally. Boston lost 8-2 yesterday and Sox starter Aaron Cook walked away with the loss and an 11 stitch gouge on his leg. Cook was involved with a play at the plate where he was forced to slide. His leg got spiked by Orioles Chris Davis but he stayed in the game despite blood pouring out of his limb. Oh, and this was Cook’s debut with the Sox. Hell of a debut.
