Wait, MLB Opening Day is Today?

ESPNIchiro Suzuki had four hits in his return to Japan, Dustin Ackley homered and then singled in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Oakland Athletics 3-1 Wednesday night in baseball’s season opener. Felix Hernandez combined with two relievers on a six-hitter as Major League Baseball opened its season in Tokyo for the fourth time.

America’s past-time begins in Japan… again. Major League Baseball dropped the ball like always. America loves baseball and we love marketing… so what does MLB do? Starts opening day with a game between the Oakland A’s and Seattle Mariners in the middle of the night in Japan, after barely marketing at all. I seriously don’t think I saw a single ad for this game, nor would I have watched it anyways. After checking out the box score it looks like it was actually a pretty good game, going 11 innings with some good pitching… pure shame. What is the bottom line? Bud Selig is joke.
