Dwight Freeney to New England?

BOSTON (CBS) The Colts said farewell to a future Hall of Famer this week, but they could be ready to part with another perennial Pro Bowler as well. According to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts are fielding calls for defensive end Dwight Freeney, whose cap hit is $19 million this year. Might one of those interested callers be the Patriots?

Umm, yes please! Forget the big-time wideout, Dwight Freeney is the guy the Patriots need. Think about it, the defensive line is awful and the wide reciever core is quietly stacked. With just Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, and Aaron Hernandez you have three guys that can catch between 70-100 balls each in a given season. At defensive end you have garbage. The only other move I would perfer the Pats to make would be signing Mario Williams, but Williams should be looking at even more than $19 million. First rounder and a player with an overrated high contract should do it. So do it!

  1. Realist says:

Well I think Lloyd comes in at a relatively fair deal for both sides. Dwight would be a tight as far as salary cap goes… you see what I did there? Dwight—>Tight… awesome stuff huh. Dude it 30 and only wants to play 4-3 but I’m suree BB could make him rush all day and why not; however, he needs to restructure his deal badly.
