Krejci, Lucic and Seguin. That is all you need to know. This line was just absolute fire last night for the Bruins. Krejci, officially breaking out of his slump with 3 goals. Seguin had a goal and an assist, and Lucic had 2 helpers on the night.
1st period ruled:
After being shutout on Tuesday (I was at that game, just awful) the B’s needed to come out quick and fast. And dammit, that is just what they did. Krejci, scoring 1:13 seconds into the game. Thornton threw down in a long, tough fight with Boulton. Thornton is now tied for the league lead in fights, with 17. That rules. Seguin also added his 21st of the season as the top line for the Bruins was putting on a show.
2nd period sucked:
New Jersey scores 3 unanswered goals. I don’t know what it is about the 2nd period, but the Bruins seem to leave their intensity in the locker room with the orange peels and Capri Suns. Thomas allowed a weak goal to Clarkson and the Devils took the lead. I was pissed. Joe Corvo is now the new Dennis Wideman. He just can’t seem to figure it out, as he led to some costly turnovers that cost the Bruins in the 2nd.
3rd period was solid:
Krejci comes out and gets the Bruins even, with a beautiful handle of a high pass as he batted one past Brodeur. Boston controlled most of the play, but just couldn’t get the go ahead goal. Boston is the best team in the NHL in 3rd period, and they definitely showcased that last night.
Overtime was just unreal:
Game knotted at 3’s. Who did you think was gonna’ score? I thought it was going to be Bergeron, but it was none other than David Krejci. Krejci with the rare hat-trick for the win. It was awesome. What a game for the kid. A nice win for Boston.
