43% Of Teams That Visit The White House, Lose Their Next Game

Pretty interesting stat, huh? Well it shouldn’t be, because I made it up. But doesn’t it seem legit? Last night, the Bruins lost to the Washington Capitals. They were up 1-0 early, but ultimately played some careless puck and the Ovechkin-less Caps capitalized.

The game was back and forth. Trading goals here and there. Marchand scored a big PP goal to even things up at 3’s, but the B’s just couldn’t sustain pressure.  They looked a little off last night, but you know that old saying, “what happens at the White House, stays at the White House.”

I don’t know what’s worse, Tim Thomas not going to the White House, or Dennis Wideman scoring.  I know Wideman’s goal was an empty-netter, but still, it’s Dennis bleeping Wideman.

Many will say the highlight of the night was Perreault recording his first hat-trick, but I don’t like Washington, so clearly the highlight of the night was Tyler Seguin’s badass backhand (above).

Too many turn overs, too many forced paces, not enough razzle-dazzle. Not a winning combination for the B’s. Tuukka didn’t have a great game either, and Johnny Boychuk fell down 8 times but that’s alright. A little time off, time to recharge the batteries, and kick it back into neutral. Just what the doctor ordered.
