This honorary captain thing has Goosebump City written all over it

Drew Bledsoe, Ty Law, Teddy Bruschi, and Troy Brown were all named honorary captains for todays AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this week. And as a sure result, shit is about to get real in Foxboro today.

Patriots fans adore Drew Bledsoe. Even after he got his chest caved in and was replaced by a much younger better looking quarterback, Pats fans always showed Drew some love. It’s almost pity love. Because how can you hate a guy, the former franchise quarterback who got his internal organs popped on live television? You can’t. And the fans today are going to go bonkers when old Drew steps on the field.

Along with Bledsoe, Ty Law, Bruschi, and Troy Brown will be present. Law is hands down the best corner the Patriots have ever seen. I have to be honest, I’m getting a little sick of Teddy’s analysis on ESPN but he was one of the greatest LB’s in Patriots history. And Troy Brown was an all round awesome player. Punt returning, receiving, and tackling, Brown was one of those crafty old players that wasn’t flashy or a dickhead off the field.

So today with the Patriots history of greatness on the line, ghosts of the past will try to push this team back to the Superbowl.  I’ll bet my Bar Mitzvah money the crowd will be absolutely deafening when these honorary captains are introduced.  Who knows, maybe some misty eyes from these guys will be an end result.

Goosebump City for sure, but for the love of God please win this game Pats.
