And the Perkins appeal is officially crushed. Perkins wasn’t known for his speed, athleticism, or basketball IQ. But he was known for his size. A big clunky center that would clobber you if you drove clean down the line. That’s pretty much all he had. His skills around the rim were sub-par, mainly because he could push everyone out of the way with his body. But his hands were eh, his footwork was so so, and his offensive game 10 feet away from the rim was painful to watch at times.
Now, Perkins is carrying around 31 pounds less than he did last season. His current weight is at 267. Not a small guy by any means, but Perkins’ game revolved around him throwing people to the ground because he was that much bigger than the opposing player.
So whats good about a skinnier, non athletic, stoned handed, two left footed center? Not a whole lot. It’s like dating a girl for her parent’s money, then all of a sudden she wants to be independent and “live on her own”.
Put some weight back on Perk, your career is in jeopardy.
