Blue Jays wanted Clay Buchholz for manager John Farrell

Did April Fools Day come early? According to a tweet from the New York Times’ David Waldstein the Blue Jays were indeed entertaining the Red Sox in their never-ending search for a manager. The Blue Jays were willing to let their current manager and the former Red Sox pitching coach go back to Boston, but for a price. According to Waldstein, Toronto wanted Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz as compensation for Farrell. This has to be one of the most ridiculous statements in quite some time. It almost sounds like one of the terrible fantasy trades I throw out to my friends and get kicked out of the league for (Johnny Damon for Matt Kemp, Matt Capps for CC Sabathia, Jason Varitek for Ryan Braun, etc.). Anyways, the Sox are still manager-less, so this “trade” may still be a possibility.
