Is it hot in here, or is just the Boston Bruins? Nine wins in a row. That’s almost a baker’s dozen. From one of the worst teams in the east in the league, for that matter, the Boston Bruins are now atop the Northeast Division. Talk about a turn around. It was awesome that the streak continued against a team like Montreal. Who, as we all know, is the worst team.Ever. In the world.
There wasn’t really any offense to talk of in this game, until Andrew Ference ripped one top shelf. The Bruins had a decent amount of chances. Price played pretty well for Montreal, but not well enough.
Benoit Pouliot did his best to try and save face with his Canadien friends by taking stupid penalties that could have cost the black and gold. Luckily, the PK was good, and I ain’t talking about Subban. The Bruins defense played solid, and the penalty killers got their groove on. 1-0 games are sometimes the most intense, and this game had plenty of big hits. Solid win, and now on to the next one against Buffalo. An absolute colossal match up.
1). Tim Thomas
Is that a brick wall out there? Nah, it’s just Timmy Thomas eating pucks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thomas stood on his head, again. Robbing people all day, all night, Thomas played one of his best games of the season. This also makes 2, you know what’s, in a row.
2). Penalty Killers
These guys stepped up big tonight. Killing off a 4:00 powerplay for Montreal. Everyone was blocking shots, taking care of the puck. Albeit a few times they diddled around with it a little too much, but for the most part, it was solid.
3). Adam Mcquaid
This guy is just one tough hombre. He played physical, like he usually does, and was one of the best defensemen out there for Boston. He blocked a shot in the 3rd period that made me hurt. Kid has heart. Mcquaid’s game is straight forward, and he isn’t afraid to put his body on the line.
