CBS – Jonathan Papelbon has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, Comcast Sports in Philadlephia is reporting. The deal, expected to be for four years, is pending a physical.
Uh oh. The Red Sox are not looking so hot right now. First they fire the only manager in the last 90 years to win them a championship, then their GM who put the championship teams together leaves them, and now they lose their closer who has been one of the best in the game during this regime. And now Papelbon will be the closer for one of the most dominating teams in baseball. Yikes. It looks like Pap will get around $50 million over four years.
