Veteran cornerback Leigh Bodden was released by the Patriots today in sudden and surprising fashion. The reasoning behind this, you ask? Apparently the relationship between Bodden and the team wasn’t working out. Really? This guy signed a pretty good deal ($22 million over 4 years) two years ago, got hurt but since has been playing well. I guess Bodden, who was a throw away player from the Lions a few years back, didn’t like the fact that rookie Ras-I Dowling took over his spot as the team’s second corner. I get it Leigh, but grow up. What do expect? You are a good player, but you were out for an entire season and the team has invested a lot into their young corners. This news breaks my heart. Good luck on the Cowboys, we know that Dallas loves old beat up players.
