NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has done it again. Goodell has fined a pair of Packers for incidents in last weeks game against the St. Louis Rams in which the team was sporting some hideous retro uniforms. As most expected AJ Hawk got hit hard in the wallet with a $10,000 fine for giving the finger (to his own team?). Fine for flipping the bird, no problem. But the Goodell becomes Goodell and fines Clay Matthews for matching his yellow cleats to his retro jersey. $5000 for yellow cleats, Goodell says. So take a look at the perpetrator in the image above. There is Clay rocking those cleats… wait who is the guy in the back with the exact same cleats? Did that guy get fined? Or was it just Clay because Roger is jealous of the golden locks? What is going on with this world? When a man can’t match his cleats to his jersey it is time to call it quits. I think the fashion police should fine the commish for lack of fashion support.
Update: Steeler Safety Troy Polamalu has been fined $10,000 for using a member of their training staffs cell phone during a game while he was being checked out for an injury. Who could Troy have possibly called to deserve this hefty fine? He called his wife to let her know he was okay. Polamalu, like Hawk and Matthews, has great hair… Coincidence? I think not. Goodell strikes again.
