Colts interested in Andrew Luck: Also begin carving Manning’s gravestone

Take Peyton Manning off the field, and the Indianapolis Colts are the worst team in football. They are currently 0-5 and have poll position (if you want to call it that) in the race for the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The prize for last place figures to be Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. Colts owner Jim Irsay has expressed interest in drafting Luck if the team gets the opportunity.

“Guys like that come along so rarely,” Irsay said of Manning and sure-fire prospects like Luck. “Even if that means that guy sits for three or four years, you’d certainly think about taking him. … You see what Green Bay did with [Brett] Favre and [Aaron] Rodgers and you’d like to be able to do the same thing.”

This comes as a bit of a surprise, considering the Colts just handed Manning a five-year extension worth $90 million to make him the highest-paid player in NFL history”

I can smell the flies on Peyton Manning’s dead carcass already.  Because when you start to gander at the top quarterback in college football after having the top QB in the NFL, something stinks.  And in this case, it’s Peyton Manning’s career.

The hottest girl in high school is now being replaced with a rising Freshman chick.  And it’s not because the hottest girl in school got pregnant, or thought she had an amazing metabolism that failed her the end of her junior year, or even the fact that she was dating a college dude thus eliminating her from the social scene, but it’s because she got a horrible spine/neck injury.  And when you have an injury like that and can’t move anymore, snagging the best new young gun is the only option.

So thank you for your Hall of Fame career Peyton, because the Colts now have a motive for this season, and that is to lose every single game as badly as possibly in order to get Andew Luck (AKA the new hot chick in school)
