Patriots release Dan Gronkowski: Meathead nation crumbles

The one in the middle, gone

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots released TE

Dan Gronkowski today.Gronkowski, 6-5, 255 pounds, was signed by the Patriots on September 7, 2011 and played in the first two games for the Patriots. He is a veteran of two NFL seasons with the Detroit Lions (2009) and the Denver Broncos (2010). Gronkowski originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick (255th overall) of Detroit in 2009 out of Maryland. He was traded by Detroit to Denver on Sept. 4, 2010. He was released by Denver on Sept. 3, 2011. He has played in 16 NFL games, including two with the Patriots, with four starts and has nine receptions for 65 yards.

The Gronks must be crushed right now.  After two weeks of getting down secret handshakes on the field and jumping on each other’s hotel beds at away games, it all comes crashing down.  Meathead nation is no more, and my condolences go out to the Gronk family.
