ABC News – Randy Moss is getting another chance in the NFL. Moss is back after agreeing to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, a person with knowledge of the negotiations said. ESPN first reported the move a day before the start of the free agency period. Moss will fill a big void for the reigning NFC West champions. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the club had yet to make a formal announcement. The 35-year-old Moss worked out with the 49ers earlier in the day — and former NFL quarterback and current coach Jim Harbaugh participated.
I was truly expecting Moss to sign with the Patriots this season. Makes sense if you think about it, he’s going to be cheap, low risk / high(decent) reward, and exactly what New England needs. But it was also exactly what San Francisco needs. Sounds like a great idea if you are the 49ers, but do you really want your cocky young wideout in Michael Crabtree (who has held out of training camp once already) learning the ropes from Randy Moss? Probably not, but the two of these guys can do some serious work even with a quarterback like Alex Smith. Now sign Peyton Manning and you have your 2012-2013 Super Bowl Champs.
